Miners Rest Early Learning Centre.
Design and construct delivery of a prefabricated 66 student early learning centre at Miners Rest, VIC on behalf of the City of Ballarat.
The building includes a very high level of thermal insulation, thermally broken double glazed windows and doors, low VOC materials and finishes throughout, an exposed fabric duct air ventilation system and a building envelope that meets German passive house standards.
Design features include an internal environment where children can explore and imagine with surface mounted sphere lighting, low level windows, dedicated art space and inbuilt caves.
Project value: $835,000 (excl GST) including design, consultant and authority fees, factory and site based construction. Form of Contract: AS4300. Factory based construction = 12 weeks.
